This book chronicles the Anti-Hindi Imposition Agitations in Tamil Nadu. Starting from 1938, there were many dozens of meetings, protests, agitations, marches, strikes and fasts in Tamil Nadu State against India's official language policy. The most widespread and intense of these protests were in January-February 1965. State police and out-of-state police and soldiers brought into Tamil Nadu to crush the agitation shot and killed at least 63 unarmed Tamil youths and injured many more in January-February 1965. Seven young men committed self-immolation to express their opposition to Hindi imposition. All these events are described in this book.
